Parc Royal

The Bois de la Cambre is a harbour of peace which acts as an escape from urban chaos.  Le Bois, in the English style, is perfect for relaxing during a walk or a picnic.  It offers a whole range of other activities to do by yourself, with your family or friends.

For refreshments, sports activities, participation in events, going to the theatre, boating, roller skating, pony and horse riding, cycling, fitness, night club…all this in a relaxed and sportive atmosphere. For the greatest pleasure of big and small, you just can’t get away from the vendors of waffles and ice cream. It’s a whole way of life at the Bois de la Cambre.

GR BRU: 9 walks in Brussels: the volunteers of the asbl GR have set up a network of 9 walks in 13 Brussels’ municipalities. These different walks are assembled in the topo-guide GR BRU. They propose the courses of between 9 and 26 km to walkers. It’s up to you to arrange your itinerary according to how you feel.

To give you inspiration for outings and holidays, get a copy of the “Guide to tourist attractions and museums in Belgium” T 02 504 03 90, available free-of-charge from Toerisme Vlaanderen and the Tourist Information Centres, published each year in English, French and Dutch.

But also the websites:

Whether you prefer to walk, cycle, jog, gallop, picnic, or whatever, there’s plenty of opportunities in the Forêt de Soignes.

We mention a few parks from the 19 municipalities. Discover them, you will be surprised what you’ll find there, large lawns where you can sit, games for children, sports equipment, footpaths, beer gardens like old times, offering small snacks, bandstands, the ponds which soften the landscape, rich biodiversity, free activities throughout the summer. In a few words, to help us reconnect with nature and to create a social link.
