There are different kinds of beers :
The Pils : basic beer with an alcohol content of around 5% (Stella Artois, Maes, Jupiter…)
The white beers (bières blanches) are made up of a large portion/amount of wheat.(Hoegaarden, white of Namur..)
Trapists are brewed in an abbey (Orval, Rochefort, Chimay, …).
The beers from the abbey (bières d'Abbaye) are made based on receipes from the old abbeys (Leffe, Grimbergen, Affligem, Maredsous, ...).
Lambic is a Brussels’ beer.
Kriek, also a Brussels'beer flavored with cherries (by steeping).
The Ambrees (bière ambrée) are lightly made with hops (Palm, Bush, Vedett, Kwak,...).

Belgium produces more than 1500 kinds of beers
The culture of beer in Belgium has been recognised as intangible cultura
heritage of the UNESCO.
The Belgian Beer weekend, beginning of September, brings together approximately 500 Belgian beers in the Grand Place. The Belgian Beer weekend has already been exported to 8 Japanese cities, including Tokyo.
In 2016 Belgium consumed 7.689.148 hl and has produced 20.616.367 hl
How to serve oneself a beer ?
Dehydrating beer: Empty the bottle in one go. Lightly tilt the glass, then straighten it. Leave the foam to fill oup. Immediately take off the bubbles from the surface of the foam with the help of a clean knife. Rinse the exterior/outside* of the glass.
Beer to taste: Serve the beer slowly. Form a rich collar of foam. Leave a small quantity of beer in the bottle to add eventually afterwards. For bottled beers, leave the ? of yeast at the bottom of the bottle and serve the bottle with a glass.
