Christmas in Brussels

The City of Brussels will once again this year decorate the streets of the capital .The traditional Christmas tree in the Grand-Place is of course part of the celebration.

The tree will be cut on November 18 in the Hautes Fagnes region and will take place on November 19 at 6 a.m. on the Grand-Place. It will be decorated on Sunday 22 on the theme “renewal”. The Christmas crib will be set up as usual.

In addition, 142 shopping streets and arteries will be illuminated and decorated. Eleven new neighborhoods are part of the Brussels by lights operation and new lights will appear in the Saint-Géry, Saint-Jacques, Fossé aux Loups, l'Ecuyer streets… In total, 16.4 km of light patterns and 8.8 km of garlands will be deployed.

Belgian designer Charles Kaisin will install various monumental works of origami in the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert and in the Îlot Sacré.

In the courtyard of the Town Hall, a 8 m high Origami Cone will be enthroned.

You will certainly find a festive atmosphere and maybe a mulled wine to warm your heart in the Brussels  outdoor markets.
