Festivals, Fairs and Annual Events
Europalia is an international festival which takes place every two years in Belgium to celebrate the cultural heritage of the guest country.
A multidisciplinary programme is proposed during four months: hundreds of prestigious but also smaller artistic events, the performing arts, music, literature, conferences and films. Including young people.
EUROPALIA is aimed at a large European public. You’ll discover not only big cultural names but also young talent.
Apart from the works of heritage, the contemporary art scene is amply highlighted, and a large place is reserved there for new creations.
Exchanges between artists of guest countries and other European countries enriches this major event in the artistic life of Belgium.
This year, Indonesia, the fifth biggest country in the world, will be honoured.
From September 17, 2017 until January 14, 2018
