Palais de Justice in Brussels (Court House) Did you know it ?

A brief history of Brussels & Belgium

Did you know that the Palais de Justice in Brussels is larger than St Peter’s Basilica in Rome? It was inaugurated in 1833.

Unfortunately, since the 1980s it has been surrounded by scaffolding to protect it from deterioration. The renovation work must, if all goes well, begin in 2018…for a period of 10 years ! What a mess !

From la Place Poelaert (name of the architect) in front of the Palais de Justice, there is a magnificent view of la rue de la Régence which takes you in the direction of the elegant quarter of Sablon and continues until the Royal quarter.

But the view is equally impressive towards des Marolles. You can get there without getting tired with a glass lift.  It will take you from the top to the bottom of the city without tiring yourself ! You can park in the underground parking of la place Poelaert.
