Midway between a sculpture and an architectural work, the Atomium was conceived and created for the Brussels World Fair (Expo 58) and served as the iconic, landmark building for this event. This structure, the only one of its kind in the world, represents an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times.
Over the years, it has become the symbol of Brussels and Belgium.
The Atomium, which celebrated
its 60th birthday in 2018, is continually re-inventing itself and delighting its visitors with the exhibitions and special events that
it hosts.
In this way, it maintains its status as the European capital’s leading attraction, year after year.
