Many communal swimming pools in Brussels are being restored this year. Get informed before you go there!

Note : swimming caps must be worn in all public pools. Men, and even boys, should, under no circumstances, wear «boxer» type swimming shorts. Only mini trunks may be worn.

Tennis

Very popular in Belgium with adults and children alike. If you are looking for partners, join a club. Some are very dynamic and organise masses of activities. Inter-school tournaments: some schools have a team and coaches for tournaments. These include Le Verseau, St Johns, ISB, BSB, the European School, the Scandinavian School, and so on.

Golf

Many golf courses close to Brussels. In all clubs you must be a member in order to play at the weekend. Some are open to non-members on weekdays.

Indoor hockey is played in many sports centres and clubs such as l’Orée, le Royal Racing Club and le Royal Léopold club in Brussels and can be found under the heading “Tennis” below.

Belgium’s national sport. Causes detours to be put in place on roads over the weekend ! There are lots of cycling clubs, which organise rides and other bike-related activities. The wearing of helmets is not compulsory but you are strongly advised to wear one.
